Jackie Little, who hails from a little B.C. town named Procter near Nelson, has won the Senior Women’s Amateur Provincial Golf championship. The 54-hole stroke play event wrapped up Thursday at Crown Isle.
Little shot rounds of 71, 76 and 77 for a three-day total of 224 — six strokes better than Lynn Kuehn of Lacombe, Alta. and Kim Evans of Vancouver, who both finished with 230.
Last year’s winner
Surrey’s Karen Pultz, who won the tournament last year, was fourth with 233.
The top local player was Valerie Dingwall of Courtenay with 269. Leona Imrie shot 276, Sheila van Gisbergen shot 279 and Dee Horie shot 287.
About 80 golfers from B.C. and Alberta participated in the 50-plus event.
The top four finishers qualify for the senior ladies national championship, Aug. 28 at the Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ont.
