On Saturday, Aug. 12 from 9-10 a.m. at the Lewis Park courts, bring your little ones, three to six years old, to try out tennis.

Kids Tennis is growing rapidly in the Comox Valley. Brenda Dean, Tennis Canada’s Building Community Champion for the Comox Valley, is proud to say that Vancouver Island and Kelowna are the fastest growing communities for Kid’s tennis in Canada.

Coach Dean is often approached in the community from parents of little ones asking what they can do to help their child develop some skills to play tennis.

At Lewis Park, she will have small racquets and bigger balls to help parents help their children with the concept of tennis. Catching and sending a ball.

So come on out. At 10 a.m., a Tennis Canada Rogers Rookie Tournament will be starting. This is an entry level kids tennis tournament for those who can rally and play, designed for six- to 15-year-olds.

Contact the Courtenay Lewis Centre at 250-338-5371 should you wish to register your child for that tournament.
