Panda Gas Services is changing hands.

After nearly two decades of running the Comox Valley-based company, founder Gordy Campbell is retiring.

Business partners Ian Husband and Steve Mansfield have bought the company.

“The time is finally here and it’s time for Gordy to retire,” said Campbell. “I started Panda Gas Services Ltd. in 1999, and over the last 19 years have had the satisfaction of establishing and growing the company to where it is today. During these years I have been blessed with meeting many great customers who have entrusted me with their service work or installation of new equipment.”

Husband and Mansfield officially took over the company on July 1. The pair received high praise from Campbell.

“I am exiting knowing that my customers will continue to be taken care of by Ian Husband and Steve Mansfield, who will continue to provide professional and personal service. I was fortunate to have these two quality guys cross my path and want to carry the Panda banner. It was important to me when I retired not to abandon my clients, and now I know they are in good hands. They are both well experienced and show honest concern for the well-being of customers. I wish them well, and will be supporting them during the transition.”

Husband and Mansfield combine for a total of 50 years of experience in the gas service industry. They said in the coming months, Panda Gas Service will expand to include plumbing, heating, air conditioning and boiler installations, sales, maintenance and repair.

“We know we have a big pair of shoes to fill and we intend to maintain the level of customer service Gordy has provided over the previous 19 years,” said Husband. “Give us a call today if you have any questions or concerns regarding your seasonal, residential, or commercial heating and cooling maintenance requirements.”

Campbell had a parting message to pass along to his customers.

“I hope that during this time I have contributed to your well-being and journey on this planet. I thank you all for your trust and support on my journey and wish you well in your future endeavours. I thank you all for allowing me the opportunity to contribute to your lives. I truly have been blessed.”
