Building Links and 1st View are taking a look ahead in real estate in the province later this month, in hopes of examining trends, forecasts and development potential.

The organizations are hosting their fifth annual Economic Forecasting Forum Jan. 20 at the Florence Filberg Centre. This year the perennially sold out event will feature keynote speaker Cameron Muir, chief economist of the B.C. Real Estate Association.

“We are excited to bring high profile industry experts to the Comox Valley,” said host Clarice Coty. “With construction and real estate in the region on the upswing, it is an opportunity for attendees to get the inside scoop on trends in residential development for 2011.”

Other guest speakers include Travis Archibald, senior market analyst at Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Peter Gibson, president of Mount Washington Alpine Resort, and Marty Douglas, managing broker of Coast Realty Group (Comox Valley) Ltd.

The forum, sponsored by Presley & Partners and Jackson & Associates, will be held Thursday Jan. 20, will offer networking time is offered from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m, dinner from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., followed by presentations from 6:45-9:15 p.m. Tickets are $59 including HST, and are available online at www.1stView.ca.
