Announced in late December, Two Eagles Lodge, located in Union Bay, is a finalist for the 2011 Vancouver Island Business Excellence awards.

According to the publisher of the Business Vancouver Island and Business Examiner, which co-ordinates the annual awards program entering its 11th year, the purpose of the program is “to celebrate the best of business for all of Vancouver Island.”

Owners Steve and Carolyn Touhey built and opened Two Eagles Lodge in 2007, and not only offers visitors accommodations, but the versatility of their design and the view has put it on the map as a venue for a variety of functions.

“We never thought our home would be a ‘venue’ but when people started asking if we can host a fundraiser or a private party, a wedding, or even a house concert, we figured why not?” said Steve.

The bed and breakfast and vacation rental are part of a 12 acre hobby farm, offering a gorgeous view of Baynes Sound with the coastal mountains in the distance. Two Eagles Lodge is located just north of the Denman Ferry in south Union Bay.
