The Art of Living in Recovery presents a mix and mingle evening featuring art, music, poetry, door prizes and raffle.

The event takes place this Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Union Street Grotto in Courtenay.

The art show will provide a showcase of musical, visual and mixed media.

The event is organized by those in recovery to show the community that creativity does not lessen for the artist who chooses to live substance free.

Recovery is possible and people in recovery live successfully all around us.

The Art of Living in Recovery is an activity of hope and positivity supporting a substance-free, safe and healthy lifestyle.

Tickets are available at the door and include a beverage, appetizer and the chance to win door prizes.

For details, contact Laura Dunkley at Laura.Dunkley@viha.ca or Sam Sommers at Charlette.Sommers@viha.ca.

The event is sponsored by the Community Drug Strategy Committee, an initiative of the City of Courtenay.

Special thanks to Grotto owners Mark and Danielle Duncan for their support.
