Amazing Brace goes Friday

The Shoreline Orthodontics Amazing Brace offers a treasure hunt to raise funds for charities in the Comox Valley and Campbell River.

The Shoreline Orthodontics Amazing Brace happens this Friday with a treasure hunt to raise funds for charities in the Comox Valley and Campbell River.

The annual event, sponsored by Dr Paul Helpard and Shoreline Orthodontics, begins at 9 a.m. at the Comox Community Centre. Teams from the Comox Valley and Campbell River dental communities hunt for specific items at nine locations before returning.

Funds raised will benefit the Comox Valley Child Development Association and Sunrise Resources in Campbell River.

The Amazing Brace replaced the successful Tin Grin Cup golf tournament, which was held from 1998 to 2010. This year marks the 15th anniversary that Dr. Helpard has sponsored an annual event that fundraises for children’s charities.

In addition, attendees participate in a continuing education lecture and practical sessions that will provide them with information and skills for patient treatment.

This year’s Amazing Brace has a pirate theme. Participants have been encouraged to dress up for the event that, along with the many nautical locations in Comox will provide some excellent photo opportunities.

People running around town dressed as pirates will be your clue that you have encountered this group doing what they do best, helping others.
