The Auxiliary to Glacier View Lodge will be holding its annual community sale Saturday, June. 19, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 1343 Williams Road in Courtenay.
The event will feature crafts, homemade baked goods, plants/garden items, kitchen and household items, tools, sporting equipment, furniture, toys/games, jewelry, puzzles, decorations and trinkets, books and more. Also included will be the unique ‘surprise’ gift bags, which have always been a favourite sale item.
The past year has been extremely challenging for all seniors’ facilities across Canada, and GVL is no different. Isolation of residents and the loss of family and volunteer participation in the daily caregiving and activities within the lodge has been stressful for all. The staff of Glacier View Lodge are to be commended for the exemplary care they have provided in keeping our elders safe throughout the pandemic.
“We are grateful for the support this Auxiliary fundraiser has received from the community over the past years,” said Auxiliary chair, Ellen Pawlina, in a press release. “All proceeds from the sale will go to programs and activities that benefit the residents of Glacier View Lodge – the community’s oldest and only community-owned non-profit long-term care home.
“We look forward to seeing you on the 19th.”
