Telethon time is upon us again.
On Sunday, Nov. 4, the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) will host its 43rd Annual Children’s Telethon at the Sid Williams Theatre from noon to 8 p.m. All proceeds support local children and their families.
One of the highlights each year at the Telethon is the draw for the winner of the Deluxe Raffle Basket.
This year’s basket contains a plethora of goods and services donated by local businesses from throughout the Comox Valley. The complete basket is valued at more than $3,000 and includes gift certificates for local dining, spa and salon treatments and great shopping throughout the region.
The lucky winner will also walk away with items including a handmade quilt, local honey, coffee mugs, aromatherapy oils and an antique crate. Of course, the basket itself is part of the prize, donated by Design Therapy, and is all beautifully arranged and wrapped by Deb Etherington of 5th Street Florist.
Single raffle tickets are only $2 or three for $5 and can be purchased leading up to the Telethon at a number of locations including weekdays at the CVCDA offices at 237 - 3rd Street in Courtenay. Go to www.CVCDA.ca for a complete list of ticket sale dates and locations.
Additionally, the CVCDA is putting on a second raffle for a flight for two to anywhere WestJet flies. Tickets for this raffle are $10 each and available to purchase at the same locations.
Tickets for both raffles will be also be available at the Sid Williams Theatre during the live broadcast of the Telethon, leading up to the draw time at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. Admittance is free to drop in, buy some raffle tickets, put a bid in on one, two, or five of the silent auction items, and enjoy some of the live entertainment.
