“We live in an amazing community,” say The Group of Glacier Writers.

The book launch for Re-Collections, short stories by authors Ken McBeath, Kathy Mason, Kunio Yamagishi, Penelope Rokeby, Sharon McInnes, Cathy M. Doyle, and Marlet Ashley, was a grand success due to the interest and generosity of the more than 50 people who attended the launch at Anderton Gardens on Sept. 25. Pieter Molenaar, local artist, painted “Comox Glacier” for the cover of Re-Collections, and donated the original painting as a prize at the launch. The lucky winner was Judy Raume of Courtenay (Photo below).

All profits from sales of the book go to Habitat for Humanity and to Anderton Gardens, and the writers were proud to give over $750 with continued profits to be sent annually.

The Group of Glacier Writers, part of the Comox Valley Writers Society, an organization open to all who are interested in writing, thank the CVWS for their support. Re-Collections is available at Laughing Oyster in Courtenay and Blue Heron in Comox. Both bookstores are selling Re-Collections for $20 with all funds going to support Habitat for Humanity and Anderton Gardens. Books are also available from Marlet Ashley at 2marz@live.ca
