Comox Valley firefighters continue to take in this season’s Christmas trees Sunday.

Many people drop off trees, though departments also arrange home pick-up for a small charge. The Courtenay and Comox departments started Saturday and continue Sunday. Each is set up at their fire hall, while Courtenay also has drop-off at the Crown Isle parking lot. Trees will chipped. Both departments will be working 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Courtenay’s program supports various charities, including local youth sports, while Comox’s supports YANA.

Cumberland’s department, in conjunction with Tree Craft Arboricultural Services, is also chipping trees on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for cash and food donations, with proceeds supporting the food bank. Pick-up is also available in village limits for a $5 donation.
