The Comox Community Centre was able to raise $410 for You Are Not Alone (YANA) while offering a creative and fun activity for families during Spring Break.

“It was great to have families into our building, to paint our windows and add spring colour to the community centre,” said recreation supervisor Amy Bauman. “Doing this while fundraising for YANA, there is no better way to show community spirit.”

Families were able to register for exclusive time slots to paint a window designed as a giant coloring book, and spend time doing something fun and exciting together as a family. The registration fee for the activity was a donation to YANA. The centre utilized the skills of Rebecca from Mountain Top to Beach who created outlines of the incredible and fun window murals. Window paintings will be on display until the end of April.

Special thanks to all the Comox Valley families who came out and donated to YANA. This activity replaced the long standing Easter Eggstravaganza hosted by Comox Recreation as a fundraiser for YANA. Staff hopes to have that event return in 2022.
