Comox fire training centre gives back

Comox fire training centre money is donated back into the community through the firefighters Good Neighbour Fund.

The Comox firefighters operate a fire training centre behind the Comox Fire Station and each year a percentage of the revenue generated from this training centre is donated back into the community through the firefighters Good Neighbour Fund.

The remainder of the revenue is used to pay the expenses of the training centre.

Over the years, the Comox firefighters have donated thousands of dollars back into the community through this fund.

“We are very pleased to be able to assist an important group like this and also support the many other causes we do,” said the Comox Firefighter Association chairperson. "It is efforts like this that makes this such a great community to live in.”

Paul Berry of Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue appreciates the support.

“We have always valued the partnership and operational support we have received over the years from the members of Comox Fire Rescue.

"This donation will be applied to the finishing touches on our new  command unit and is much appreciated,“ Berry added.
