Comox Valley Child Development Association 50/50 tickets available

The Comox Valley Child Development Association’s online 50/50 Raffle is back. For three weeks only, you can make a difference to local child development. And of course, the more tickets sold, the bigger the potential prize. With only 4,000 tickets for sale, supporters will have a chance to win up to a $10,000 jackpot, half the total ticket sales.

For the second year, raffle tickets will be sold strictly online, easily accessible to remote supporters throughout the region and across B.C. Tickets are $5 each. Those who spend $20 or more will automatically be entered into a bonus prize draw (TBA).

Profits from the remaining half of the pot will contribute to the end of day totals of the 46th CVCDA Children’s Telethon broadcasting live to your TVs and streaming devices Nov. 7 from noon-8 p.m. The CVCDA will use all funds raised to continue to build on programs, and meet local demands to improve upon the lives of Comox Valley children, youth and adults with diverse abilities and their families, who utilize their services.

Additionally, the CVCDA is excited to announce the primary fundraising goal for 2021 is to fund the initial planning stages of a new capital project. The Therapy Building, one of their oldest and most historic buildings, is in need of replacing in order to more easily meet the growing demand for services.

As always, there are a number of additional ways participants can contribute to fundraising goals. After successfully going 100 per cent virtual last year, the committee decided to continue offering everything online through the website, including an online donation form, silent auction bidding and 50/50 ticket sales.

Auction bidding and 50/50 ticket sales will remain open for most of the telethon broadcast. Auction bidding will end at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7. Then, ticket sales will end at 6 p.m. and the 50/50 draw will take place live at 7:45 p.m.

For those who would like to contribute by making a monetary donation, there are a number of ways to do so. Donors can phone in live to the telethon to make a pledge at 250-334-9200, or call any time before or after the event at 250-338-4288. Online donations are also accepted anytime at CVCDA.CA.

The telethon will be broadcast live from the Sid Williams Theatre via broadcast partner Shaw Spotlight. Supporters can be part of the wonderful fundraising spirit of the Comox Valley from the comforts of home or whereever they are. The telethon will still be a free, live event for the whole family to view in real-time from their TVs or streaming devices.

The Comox Valley Child Development Association is a non-profit organization locally supporting children, youth and adults with diverse abilities and their families since 1974. In 2020, over 1,000 Comox Valley children and their families used services at the CVCDA. All of its 16 programs are designed to enrich the lives of people who access services, and contribute to a stronger Comox Valley that welcomes and includes everyone who lives here.
