The Comox Valley Christmas Parade returned to downtown Courtenay, Sunday afternoon, after a one-year absence.

The Comox Valley Christmas Parade returned to downtown Courtenay, Sunday afternoon, after a one-year absence.

The Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association began planning the event earlier in the fall upon approval from health authorities.

The theme of this year’s parade was Silver Bells.

Parade participants included Ignisia Circus, the 386 Komox Air Cadet Squadron, ElderDawg Comox Valley Pawd, the J Puddleduck Preschool/Daycare Society, Vireo School of Performing Arts, St. John Ambulance Volunteer, Habitat for Humanity, North Island College, the CV Head Injury Society, Laurie Tinkler School of Dance, the Glacier Kings, Courtenay Little Theatre, The Caring Clowns of the Comox Valley, the Indigenous Women’s Sharing Society, Triple Heat Dance, The Flowerman, the Venetian Harper, local mayors, the RCMP and the Courtenay Fire Department.

There were $500 prizes to be won in various categories.
