The Comox Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) is inviting all non-profits and registered charitable organizations in the Comox Valley to attend a two-part governance training Workshop in February 2019.

But time is running out to register, as the online registration closes Dec. 7.

This professional development opportunity is open to all non-profits and registered charitable organizations in the Comox Valley.

For the third year, the CVCF has dedicated funds to support professional development initiatives.

Last year, an overwhelming number of professional development grant requests were focused on improving governance. In response, Comox Valley Community Foundation has hired local governance expert Jon Pascoe, certified management consultant and chartered professional in human resources.

Pascoe was first an executive director 29 years ago, and has been providing governance and human resources consulting for almost two decades.

“Comox Valley charitable organizations play an essential role in creating a better future for all in the Valley,” said CVCF president Matt Beckett. “We all benefit from the passion and talents of the many employees and volunteers who work tirelessly to make the Comox Valley better.”

The CVCF recognizes that many organizations’ resources are stretched to the maximum. Often the most critical need they have is greater support and training for their board, staff and volunteers. This year the CVCF has committed professional development funds to help improve the overall strength of the charitable organizations for up to 64 participants.

Non-profits or registered charities interested in attending can apply online before Dec. 7 at www.cvcfoundation.org

Successful applicants will be announced in January. Interested groups are encouraged to learn more about the workshop at cvcfoundation.org.
