Comox Valley Healthcare Auxiliary introduces ‘bears for babies’ initiative

The Auxiliary for Comox Valley Healthcare is giving a special teddy bear to each baby born in the Comox Valley Hospital.

The first newborn to receive her bear was baby Jasmine, seen here with mom Sofia, dad and big brother. Also pictured are Sandy Dreger (convenor of Valley Gift Shop, located in the hospital), Annette Moulaison-Davis (cross site manager Maternal/Child Care for Comox Valley and Campbell River hospitals), Sarah Heighington (clinical co-ordinator, Maternal/Child Care Comox Valley Hospital), and Caroline Hoon (Auxiliary president).

The Auxiliary operates the Gift Shop with volunteers and all proceeds go toward patient comforts and equipment.
