On Nov. 18, Allison Luke will be the guest speaker at the Comox Valley Horticultural Society meeting. Luke will share smart and strategic ways to water different types of gardens. She’ll focus on a spectrum of irrigation systems and smart watering practices used at the UBC Botanical Gardens.
Luke is certified as a Red Seal Horticulturist and an ISA Certified Arborist. An educator and storyteller who is passionate about botanical literacy and hands on practical skills. She regularly leads workshops and tree tours for the public, businesses and garden clubs.
With over 20 years of experience, Luke has previously worked at the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens and Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver. She is currently the Principal Instructor of Horticulture Training Programs at UBC Botanical Gardens.
This Zoom meeting will be the last one for 2024 but we’ll be back in the New Year with Brian Minter as the first guest speaker for 2025.
