Larson and band perform from 1:40–3 p.m.

Des Larson, born and raised in the Comox Valley, is known professionally as Desmond Day. He is a singer/instrumentalist who lives and breathes music. His love of music began while attending school in the Comox Valley where he gained support from the community.

Day believes music is the key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He writes and records music by day, and performs lounges and small concert venues by night in Vancouver. He is on the cusp of releasing his self-titled debut album, Desmond Day.

Day’s music is an infusion of soulful jazz, reggae and 90s pop music. His sound is a symmetrical balance of acoustic and electronica. Des doesn’t hold back when putting on a live performance and this promises to be a memorable show.

Luzna kicks off the music at 12:30 p.m. Luzna is a salsa, Latin and Cuban music group. The band’s repertoire includes Mexican and Cuban boleros, cha cha and jazz.

Come out and support homegrown talent at the July 1, Canada Day celebration.
