You are invited to be part of a global focus on world healing and peace. On Dec. 8, the Comox Valley’s One World Chant and Meditation gathering coincides with a worldwide vigil for the healing of humanity and the earth.

The Valley’s monthly 45-minute One World Chant and Meditation event on Dec. 8 will be held recognizing its timely occurrence with the worldwide vigil. This local gathering has been an ongoing effort to promote healing and wholeness for humanity and the earth. It consists of inter-spiritual chants and readings spaced around short silent periods. Sponsored by Comox United Church, the Unitarian Fellowship, and Unity Spiritual Centre, the gathering meets the second Saturday of every month in the Comox United Church hall at 250 Beach Street, 5:00-5:45 p.m. For more information call 250-339-3966.

“We started this event in April of this year and are encouraged to see people from various belief systems come to sit together in a space and time dedicated to healing and peaceful relations,” said Peggy Zimmerman, one of the co-ordinators for the Valley gathering. “Both our local event and the worldwide vigil offer a wonderful way to enter the approaching season of peace.”

The 24-hour world vigil is being organized by One World Dialogue, a non-profit organization headquartered in Germany. It will be streamed live from locations around the globe, featuring teachers and practices from a variety of traditions, including earth-based, Ma’at/uBuntu, the Inayati Order, Benedictine, Jewish, Yoruba healing, Lukumi, and the Indigenous Grandmothers.
