The Friends of Mack Laing Park (FMLNP) have been volunteering in both Mack Laing & Baybrook Nature Parks pulling invasives the past several years.

An estimated 800 volunteer hours were accumulated during this period. This fall, they decided to extend to other areas in the town of Comox, adding the Brooklyn Creek Greenway and Port Augusta Park, adding an additional 250 hours. FMLNP have created an educational brochure informing the public of the damage that English ivy, and other invasives such as lamium cause, and promoting its removal. They are available at numerous locations throughout the town.
