The excitement is building for Courtenay Canada Day celebrations in and around Lewis Park and the downtown core.
This year, Courtenay’s Canada Day has some exciting changes with new features like a dunk tank, a three-storey inflatable slide, a 19 Wing glider and bomb disposal robot display, a 4H petting zoo and much more.
July 1 schedule highlights:
Saturday, June 30
· Night Before Concert, Lewis Park, 4–10 p.m.
Sunday, July 1
· Canada Day Parade, 5th Street, 10 a.m.
· Opening ceremony, Lewis Park, noon
· Cake cutting, Lewis Park, 12:30 p.m.
· Kids Zone, Simms Park, 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
· Mainstage live music, Luzna, 12:30 p.m. and Desmond Day Larson, 1:40 p.m.
· Imagine Variety Show, Sid Williams Theatre, 7 p.m.
