The Outdoor Pool at Lewis Park opens for the season on Monday, May 31.

The team at Courtenay Recreation is carefully following Public Health Orders, and all activities at the pool this season will need to be reserved in advance. Reservations can be made in two week increments for length swims, open swims and Aquafit classes.

All pool program information will be released May 11 at www.courtenay.ca/rec. Starting May 17, patrons can begin reserving spots for the following pool activities only:

· Length swims

· Open swim

· Adapted swim

· Aquafit classes

· Swimming lessons

Registration for all other summer programs begins May 31.

The safety of participants and staff is Courtenay Recreation’s top priority. The pool will be operating at reduced capacity according to PHO, and B.C. Recreation and Parks Association guidelines. Equipment will be limited to flutter boards, personal flotation devices and fitness belts, and will be disinfected after each use.

Change rooms will not be available, so come prepared to swim. As per current Public Health orders, masks are required in the dry areas of the pool and the washrooms. View the detailed guidelines and safety plans for the Outdoor Pool at www.courtenay.ca/safetyplans
