Local dance instructors Keith and Holly Foraie will teach regular classes starting Jan. 13 and 17 at the Courtenay Upper Legion Hall.

All class sessions run for six weeks so that you don’t have to commit to a really long session. One-hour classes, once a week for six weeks, has proven to be just the right amount.

This will provide beginners enough knowledge of the dance they are learning to use it on the dance floor.

There will be five different beginner classes offered this winter/spring season, consisting of East Coast Swing, Hustle, Cha Cha, West Coast Swing and Country Two-Step. Classes for dancers that are beyond beginner or more advanced are also offered.

With Keith and Holly’s teaching experience in social partner dancing of more than 20 years, they definitely have a good grasp of what new dancers require.

Most of the dances they teach are very adaptable to many types of music, so that dancers can take these dances to many venues and dance them to a wide variety of music.
