Father Involvement Network understands

Every dad is special in his own way, and it’s important for dad to play a role in the life of his children.

Every dad is special in his own way, and it’s important for dad to play a role in the life of his children.

Amazing things happen to kids, to mom, to the community and to dad, when men give their time, attention and focus to the children they are raising.

The Father Involvement Network understands, and its role is to help facilitate and foster relationships and special activities with fathers and their children.

Since June 2006, a group of community members have gathered to promote and provide free father-friendly activities throughout the Comox Valley.

Consider this your invitation for dads and their kids to join the next big event at the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre on Oct. 22. It runs from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and will include swimming and pizza supplied by Ryan Williams of Re/Max.

It’s open to all ages.

There are also regular free recreation nights every second and fourth Mondays of the month at the Courtenay Elementary School gym from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.

For more information on these events, contact Father Involvement Network co-ordinator Justin Ethier at 250-334-2477.
