The Courtenay Fish & Game Club held its annual Fishing Forever program for the past two weeks. Nearly 200 participants cast lines into the water this year.

Run by the BC Wildlife Federation, Fishing Forever came into existence in 1989. The idea came from a broadcast journalist named Walt Liimatainen to create a venue through which people with disabilities could learn to, or continue to, fish and enjoy the outdoors.

The Family Fishing Weekend was Father’s Day.
