The Comox Valley Horticultural Society is dedicated in its commitment to educating the membership and promoting gardening pursuits within the community.
The first is accomplished through inspiring guest speakers at monthly meetings.
The latter is made possible through donations to various groups of money raised from the tireless efforts of the members of the Society.
To this end, the CVHS took the opportunity at a recent meeting to make a donation to The Views at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
With help from numerous volunteers in the horticultural society, residents of The Views have created a backyard garden that has become a vibrant area for the enjoyment of everyone in the Extended Care Unit.
The residents enjoy starting vegetable and flower seeds in the greenhouse for planting out in the raised garden beds and oak barrels.
