Kayak For a Cure Comox Valley will take the water again this year.
“We will be organizing another great fundraiser this year, hoping to grow on the $44,000 we have raised in our first two years,” says organizer Blaine Brown.
“For those unfamiliar with the event, it is a lot of fun and a great way to get out on the water. Our fundraisers spend the next few months raising donations towards cancer research, recovery and care.
"They are rewarded with a great day of paddling, barbeque and prizes. We offer an intro/refresher course to paddling in the weeks leading up to the event.
"Our fundraiser is fully guided, and designed for every level of paddler from beginner to seasoned pro. We will supply breakfast, the kayak and all related safety equipment and feed you afterwards.
"All we ask in return is that people are passionate about the cause and do some fundraising,” says Brown.
Kayak For A Cure will take place at 2020 Cliffe Ave. (behind Comox Valley Kayaks) on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.
