Lake Trail Community Education Society is embarking on a new fundraising initiative.

Looking back on 2020, we have felt just how important it has been to have the support and kindness of our family and friends,” said Anna Ranbow of the Lake Trail Community Education Society, in a press release. “Whether reaching out over zoom calls, making an extra trip to the grocery store for a neighbour, or simply communicating a smile over the top of a mask, our connections with each other have helped us get through. In especially challenging times, it becomes clear that community matters.”

With that in mind, the Lake Trail Community Education Society would like to offer a way to say thank you on Family Day Weekend, which includes Galentine’s Day and Valentine’s Day.

Beginning Feb. 1, the society is taking orders for #CVBubbleBoxes. Each box will be filled with a selection of savories and sweets from local vendors—enough for two. There is an element of surprise as to which products are included, and additional fun items and gift certificates will be added randomly.

Proceeds from each purchase supports programs and activities offered though Lake Trail Community Education Society’s three areas of focus: Healthy Communities, After School Programs and Youth, and Community Garden and Healthy Foods initiatives.

Bubble boxes are $25, available for pick up between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 12.

And be sure to explore program offerings, including online gardening workshops and ukulele classes.
