The Comox Valley chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers is looking for new members and is aiming to pass along information about the dangers of impaired driving.

The chapter is hosting its annual general meeting June 4 at 6 p.m. at the Comox Valley Community Health Centre at 961 England Avenue, in Courtenay.

The meeting will serve both as an introduction to potential members to explore the work MADD does and an opportunity for volunteers to join the organization, gain new skills or draw upon experience to fulfill opportunities available within the chapter.

These opportunities include: fundraising/event planning co-ordinator; social media/marketing manager; volunteer co-ordinator; victims service manager and RCMP/school liaison.

The mission of MADD is to stop impaired driving (drinking and drugged) and to support victims of this violent crime.

The event is free and open to the public; snacks and coffee/tea will be provided.
