Courtenay high school celebrates outdoors for first time ever

Courtenay’s Mark R Isfeld Secondary School held its Grade 12 graduation outdoors for the first time in school history on June 27, 2018.

Scattered showers throughout the day made set-up a challenge, as was duly noted by principal, and MC, Jeff Taylor.

“Graduations are like pregnancies. You can plan for nine months, but there’s guaranteed to be some hard labour on the day of the event,” he said, in his opening monologue.

The rain held off for the official ceremony, as 169 students were honoured.
