NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK: Comox Valley Exhibition could not take place without its volunteers

Comox Valley Exhibition has been celebrating our volunteers for 148 years. As a non-profit run by a volunteer working board, without these amazing volunteer individuals and organizations we would not be able to provide the Comox Valley with an award-winning agriculturally-based fair.

Volunteering at the Comox Valley Exhibition has been a family affair for many over the years. The Wylies have been very active the last few years, spending the weekend helping with parking, transportation and anything else they are asked. Their generosity of time and enthusiasm is exceptional and gratifying.

Volunteering at the Comox Valley Exhibition can also become a long-term passion. Several volunteers over the years have stayed to become members of the board of directors. One of these who will be sorely missed is Keith Currie who spent 14 years and gave generously of his time to ensure the success of CVEX.

Mike Trimble is another who gave very generously of his time and energy and will be missed by all. Others continue to volunteer faithfully even after they no longer belong to the board of directors.

Laurie Fauteux shares her time and knowledge for the Home & Garden competitions, Jim Lilburn helps us keep other non-profit organizations supplied with equipment and Andy Quinn lends a hand at every opportunity.
