Large pod gives photographer a thrill

A large pod of orcas has been travelling the Georgia Strait this week, and Robyn Smiley was fortunate enough to photograph some spectacular wildlife moments Tuesday afternoon (May 15), between Comox and Campbell River.

Another photo of a larger contingent from the same transient pod, surfacing near Quadra Island. “Over 20 transient Orcas spent last Tuesday swimming up coast from Comox to Quadra Island, and we were among those lucky enough to witness them,” said Robyn Smiley, who took the photo.
