Pierre Chenier speaking at Marxist-Leninist Party meeting this Friday

Local Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada members are hosting a meeting with Pierre Chenier, secretary of the Workers' Centre of the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) this Friday night.

This Friday, at 7 p.m. at the Filberg Centre (Craft Room), local members of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada will host a meeting with Pierre Chenier, secretary of the Workers’ Centre of the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist).

A native of Quebec and a printer by trade, Chenier is known nationally for his interviews with workers published in The Marxist-Leninist Daily (online at www.cpcml.ca) and Workers’ Forum. Workers’ Forum is the monthly national magazine of the Workers’ Centre, which is dedicated to ending the marginalization of the workers’ demands and smashing the silence on working conditions.

Chenier is active in the work to build the Workers’ Opposition and, on the electoral front, to encourage workers to take up the independent politics of the working class and break with the illusion that we can find representation in one or another of the parties of the status quo.

He says, “We have to organize to elect worker politicians to the Parliament to set the direction of the economy so that it guarantees the rights of all. We have to deprive the rich and their governments of their power to turn our lives upside down and wreck the economy.”

Chenier is visiting various cities in B.C. and Alberta during a trip to attend the CLC Convention in Vancouver. Everyone is welcome.
