Comox Legion 160 has announced events to remember and commemorate Remembrance Day.
It will be a mixture of solemn, entertainment and family events.
Starting with Nov. 8 and 9, Comox Legion will host a special Remembrance Week Meat Draw. There will be extra free draws for all participants.
On Remembrance Day, the parade will form on Nordin Street at 10:30 a.m. and march to the Cenotaph. The air force fly over will happen approximately at 11 a.m..
The service will include announcing comrades who have fallen since the last gathering and prayers led by Padre Samuel Drouin. The Canadian Military Wives Choir will provide recitals for the ceremony.
Once the ceremony is over, the public are invited to the Comox Legion to socialize with current and veteran service personnel. There will be a family event in the upstairs hall. Hot dogs and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided, as well as activities for children.
This will be a good opportunity for families to understand the role the Legion plays in supporting veterans and the wider community. At 4 p.m., local musician Anela Kahiamoe will play at The Beaufort Ave pub.
All are welcome to join for these events.
