Get on your broomstick and follow the witches and black cats to the annual Courtenay Halloween Parade and Party on Saturday, Oct. 30, put on by Courtenay Recreation in partnership with the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association (DCBIA).
This free event runs on Duncan Avenue from 3-5 p.m. and is geared toward family fun. Street festival activities include a DJ, family photos, games, treats, toothy fun and a Halloween activity at the Courtenay Library. Organizations taking part are Courtenay Recreation, DCBIA, Comox Valley Arts, Courtenay & District Museum, Vancouver Island Regional Library and Island Health.
Spooky fun is also to be had at The LINC Youth Centre’s Haunted House at 300 Old Island Highway. From 3:30 – 5 p.m., bring little ones and enjoy half the fright night. From 6–9 p.m. enjoy the full fright. $2 per person or $5 per family.
Drivers, please be patient and alert while hundreds of small costumed characters walk around Downtown Courtenay.
