Thanks to a donation from Sprout Meadows, four children in John Howard KidStart will attend horse riding camps this summer.

“At Sprout Meadows we love being able to support the community and to help give kids an opportunity to experience the world of horses, who otherwise might not be given this chance. Seeing their faces the moment they connect is priceless,” said Trish Cowland, who co-owns Sprout Meadows with her husband Chris Cowland.

Sprout Meadows is a repeat donor to KidStart, a mentoring program offered by the John Howard Society of North Island that connects children and youth 6-18 with adult volunteers for friendship and recreational activities.

“We are very grateful to Sprout Meadows for making it possible for children in KidStart to attend horse riding camps. This will undoubtedly be a highlight of the summer for our mentees,” said Vicki Luckman, John Howard community programs manager.

KidStart is funded solely by community donations, fundraising, and gaming funds. The program is in need of volunteer mentors and donations.
