North Island College first year nursing students on internship at St. Joseph’s were some of the many staff and volunteers who enjoyed a gelato during the nineth Annual Gelato Day – a day the community gives appreciation back to staff and volunteers for their generous commitment and contribution in healthcare.

St. Joseph’s annual Gelato Days, now in its ninth year, was celebrated May 19 as a token of appreciation from the community to all staff and volunteers for their dedicated service and contributions in healthcare.

Sponsored and donated by Piercy’s Funeral Home with gelato supplied by Hot Chocolates, the event featured some of the Valley’s most talented musicians including Dick Stuart, Luke Blu Guthrie, Sue Medley, Tammy Fassert, and Helena Jung & Friends.

As a thank you for the event, St. Joseph’s extends its sincerest gratitude back to the community, honoured to have been of service to the Comox Valley for the past 103 years.

“We are so grateful for the incredible support from our local business community,” shared Jane Murphy, president and CEO.

“Gelato Days is thoroughly enjoyed by all our staff, physicians and volunteers and it is events like these that are very affirming to our wonderful team of dedicated individuals.”
