The Strathcona Wilderness Institute (SWI) is hosting its 2018 annual general meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 7 p.m. at the Florence Filberg Centre.
The meeting will include annual reports and election of the board, followed by a short slide presentation and light refreshments.
There will also be a presentation on “Fossil Life of Strathcona Provincial Park: 300 Million Years Ago on the Sea Floor” by palaeontologist Randal Mindell. It will encompass the fossils from limestone of the Buttle Lake area, including crinoids, which are beautiful flower-like creatures distantly related to the modern sea-urchin.
Members of the public, former and potential volunteers are all invited to attend the AGM and learn more about SWI’s work, accomplishments and plans for the upcoming year.
The board of directors invites anyone interested in being involved in the SWI at the organizational level, namely as a director, to put their names forward for the upcoming election. For more information, please contact Judy Norbury: firstname.lastname@example.org
