Today ‘N’ Tomorrow Learning Society (TNTLS) is celebrating its 25th anniversary supporting young Comox Valley parents graduate from high school.

We invite the community to join us and help celebrate this major milestone on Saturday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4830B Headquarters Road in Courtenay (beside Vanier High School). Come enjoy a free kids carnival featuring Captain Thunderpants.

The celebration includes a free barbecue with burgers and hot dogs, a bouncy castle for the kids, face painting, fun-filled games, and crafts. Come reconnect with us if you are a TNTLS grad or supporter, or, if you are a community member interested in learning about what TNTLS offers, come introduce yourself. It will be a great chance to have a look around our facilities, to mingle with society staff and members, our parents and their families, and our board of directors.

“It’s hard to believe TNTLS began with just 20 young parents in the early 1990s and has helped so many since,” said Sallie Crawford, chair of the TNTLS board. “Over 130 teens have high school diplomas because TNTLS was there to support them by providing high-quality care for their children as well as support and outreach while they attended school.”

While the success of TNTLS is most often measured by the number of graduates, we also want to celebrate TNTLS’s growth and evolution over our 25 years. The society now runs three programs: Teddies ‘N’ Toddlers, Little Friends Early Learning Centre, as well as the Young Parents Program. The occasion will also be marked with the grand opening of our new Pump Track – the first of its kind in a child-care setting in the Comox Valley.
