WATCH: Terry Fox Run participants honour loved ones, support cancer research

Over 100 people participated in the Comox Valley Run

It has been 38 years since Terry Fox was forced to end his Marathon of Hope, but his story continues to inspire people across the country.

The Comox Valley Terry Fox Run brought 103 people to Simms Millenium Park despite the cold.

While some have been participating in the run for decades and this was the first run for others, each person had their own reasons for participating.

Bonny Ervin has been participating in the Terry Fox Run since 1982.

“I know lots of people who have cancer and I’m a cancer survivor, so there’s that,” said Ervin. “But in general, I think Terry Fox was the best… one of the best Canadians we could ever have.”
