Summers in Downtown Courtenay just got better, starting today.

After the uncertainty of the last three years, the Downtown Courtenay Summer Street Markets returns to full capacity with some exciting additions. The Downtown Courtenay Summer Street Markets is a partnership between Comox Valley Farmers’ Market, Comox Valley Arts, Comox Valley Homebased Business Association and the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association.

The market will be held every Wednesday from 2-5:30 p.m. from June 7 to Sept. 6, on Duncan Avenue between 6th Street and 4th Street in Downtown Courtenay.

“The collaboration between these Comox Valley organizations will bring a boost to the downtown core with a great selection of local farm, food and drink as well as a wide range of hand-crafted artisan products. We are excited to be able to offer something for everyone,” said Twila Skinner, general manager, Comox Valley Farmers’ Market.

“There will be between 30-50 vendors each week in addition to live acts, food and art demonstrations, food trucks and so much more,” added Jennifer Casey, executive director, Comox Valley Arts.

All the products found at the market are made, baked, grown or raised by the vendors right here in the Comox Valley and Strathcona Regional Districts. You can find everything from arugula to zucchini, abstract art to pottery and everything in between.

Bring your market basket to Downtown Courtenay every Wednesday afternoon from June to September and fill it with local products from the vendors and surrounding businesses.
