YANA Online Auction runs until Feb. 8

Items include four pairs of tickets to sold-out Big Love Dinner

Starting Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. and running until Feb. 8 at 9 p.m., YANA presents the Big Love On-Line Auction with all proceeds benefitting YANA Comox Valley.

For more than three decades, YANA (You Are Not Alone) has been hosting an annual dinner and auction to raise funds for local families who need to travel outside the community for the medical care of a child under 19 or a pregnant mother.

“The Big Love Benefit Dinner and Auction gala event is our most successful yearly fundraiser,” said YANA president, Kelly Rusk. “It’s always a beautiful evening filled with generosity from our sponsors, donors and guests. We’re limited by the size of the venue, of course, so we’re always looking for more ways to welcome additional support for the event.”

YANA continues to experience growing need related to medical travel which has resulted in significantly higher program costs. This has required the local charity to think creatively and to expand its fundraising.

“The online auction component was such an amazing addition to the event last year,” added Kelly Barnie, YANA executive director. “We’re super excited to offer it again this year and have added four pairs of tickets to the sold out Feb. 22 event to the other generously donated items up for bid.

“There’s another new opportunity to support the 2019 event too. Keep an eye out for YANA volunteers hitting the town selling WestJet raffle tickets in early February.”

Bidding starts with a quick registration on the Auctria auction platform, and review of all the gift certificates, cards and vouchers up for grabs.

“Now everybody can be a part of the Big Love,” said Barnie. “It’s a second chance to secure tickets to the gala event, an opportunity to see the community’s generosity first hand, and to find some really cool stuff.”

“With the online auction and raffle ticket sales, there are lots of ways for people to support YANA families through this fundraiser,” said Rusk. “Have fun bidding high, bidding often, and buying tickets from the comfort of your couch.”
