EXTREME ZUCCHINI RACING is growing in popularity.

Two years ago, the Comox Valley Exhibition – or Fall Fair — initiated the Extreme Zucchini Races.

This was the brainchild of the Kiwanis Club of Courtenay, and the interest in the races has grown each year.

The third running will take place at the Exhibition Aug. 26 to 28 at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds.

There are races for three age classes each day, and there is a special event on the Saturday for the developmentally challenged.

There are few rules and those that do exist are very simple

Each racer must be made of a real zucchini.

Wheels must be attached to the zucchini (no skateboards or roller skates). Decoration is encouraged and is part of the judging. There are lots of prizes in each class.

Full details and entry forms are available in the Comox Valley Exhibition program.
