Local singer songwriter and Vancouver Island Music Awards Artist of the Year 2011 Helen Austin will play some tunes July 13 at Zocalo Café in Courtenay.
Fresh from Vancouver Island Musicfest, Helen will be
joined by her daughter, Daisy Squires, on fiddle, vocals and trombone along with Jim Stepan on percussion.
Helen has had her music placed on many TV shows, movies and ads, most recently for Nivea and Head & Shoulders.
Currently nominated for several awards, Helen has just finished a new album, which she recorded in LA with renowned producer, Bleu. The new album will be out in September, followed by a new children's album in November.
