Every year, spring means a few things in the Valley: the sun shines for more hours each day, the birds begin to sing louder and prouder, and the Canadian Military Wives Choirs Comox puts on its annual spring concert.

On Sunday, June 9 at 3 p.m., you are invited to a musical afternoon entitled, This is the life for me.

As the choir winds down for the season, the military community prepares to see some of its families posted to other bases, while preparing to welcome new families to the Valley. This concert hopes to convey the joy and sometimes sorrow that accompanies this lifestyle.

The concert will take place at St. Michael and All Angels Chapel on Military Row, with doors opening at 2:40 p.m. Admission is by donation, and as always, the concert will be followed by the choir’s delectable bake sale.

The Canadian Military Wives Choirs are all female choirs, which aim to support military women through vocal music and camaraderie. Members are closely associated with the military, either by marriage or by occupation, and there is a strong emphasis on friendship and fun. Come and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and song while supporting a dynamic group of women.
