A community choir is a fantastic venue for children to learn and build on basic musicianship to support other instruments/lessons and school curriculum, develop confidence in their voice, make friends, and experience joy. Singers are exposed to multiple languages, music from varied cultural backgrounds, secular and religious music, as well as opportunities for movement and playing instruments.
The Comox Valley Children’s Choir is an educational and social extra-curricular activity that benefits children on many levels.
The recently reformed choir is for children aged 8-12, under the musical direction of Sophie Simard.
The choir is accepting new singers for the 2015-2016 season. Auditions are Saturday, May 23 at Motif Music Studios in Tin Town and by appointment.
