The Comox Valley Art Gallery welcomes everyone to come by this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. and “discover art.”

This event is free and open to the public; great for families with young children!

Discover Art Saturdays is a three-hour interactive visual art experience held on occasional Saturdays at CVAG. This event is for people of all ages interested in learning about the visual arts, with emphasis on families who are looking for fun, creative, affordable activities.

Arrive at 1 to participate in an hour of facilitated questions, answers and discussion; hosted by gallery staff and volunteers, you will take a closer look at three or four key art pieces in the exhibition. At 2, the gallery will provide art supplies and you can create your own exhibition inspired art or greeting cards to take away.

This Saturday’s theme is “springtime flowers” and/or “Mother’s Day greetings.” You can arrive for both or either sessions and no registration is required.

Discover Art Saturday is hosted by CVAG volunteer Rosemary Lapenskie, who has loved art from a very young age and continues to share that love with others, adults and children, through open discussion of art and creating art.

The next Discover Art Saturday will be on June 16, just prior to Father’s Day.
