Vancouver jazz singer Jaclyn Guillou is travelling through Europe and Canada including a show in Courtenay at the Elks Hall.

Vancouver-based Jaclyn Guillou has been carving out a name for herself as a phenomenal new talent on the Canadian music scene over the past three years almost immediately after she emerged at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival in 2009.
As a 20something artist, she's already been the recipient of a CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, completed several sold out tours in Canada, and most recently has performed at the famous Birdland Jazz Club in New York and in April completed a European Tour with her debut full length album, entitled To The City.
Now that she's had all of this success in numerous small towns and cities of Canada, the USA and Europe, she's not resting on her laurels, but instead embarking on a four-week Canadian tour, including a May 20 concert at the Elk's Hall, her second appearance in Courtenay.
"My album was conceptual in a natural way and a lot of my songs draw from travel experiences and personal moments in my life. It's an amazing thing to share these extremely personal and inspirational stories while touring across the world and become even more connected with different people, culture and languages."
