JP Carter and Kenton Loewen's musical collaborations began in the late 90's in the Vancouver experimental/ free jazz scene. Home town venues like The Sugar Refinery and 1067 Granville became cultural hotbeds for the younger generation of musicians where they first met and began playing together.
Since then it's been countless improvised sets and years on the road travelling the world with many different projects including Gordon Grdina's Haram and Dan Mangan + Blacksmith. Loewen and Carter are founding members of the 8EAST Improvising music collective in Vancouver.
It's there where they started to focus more on playing as a duo which led to their debut album "It Becomes Us"(Indidels) released in 2021.
They play The Abbey in Cumberland on Nov. 15 at 8:00 p.m. as part of their Fall Islands Tour.
